TeachMeet Doncaster

So, my first teachmeet that I plan on going to and I would like to do a completely non-techie thing of just talking about what I'm good at and how it's gone down and the results achieved etc....no presentation at all...

OOH!..bucking the trend of doing whizzy techie things - which I also love - and can I do it?!

For me it seems that teachmeets are all about what whizzy things people do with ICT, I do just fine with that but I feel that the thing I am good at is creative ideas, which isn't necessarily ( I always say, Never Eat Cake Eat Salmon Sandwiches and remain 'ily) what people might want to hear...so...what do you think?

Are you up for non-techiness?...or not?

I know what you mean about Teachmeets and the predominance of ICT, however, this isn't and hasn't ever been a prerequisite. Teachmeets should be just what you suggest: good ideas that work in the classroom. I'd love to see a lot more non-techie presentations added to the mix. I'd love to see you just talk about the things you do so well. Why not sign up for more than one?!

Just to echo what Dughall has commented - I think the techie nature of many TMs has maybe put people off. I want to see a shift back to a focus on learning in all of it's forms.

Please, please consider putting your name down and present anything you are passionate about.

In your post you say it might not be what people want to hear...I think we all want to hear good learning ideas, whichever shape or flavour.
